Dear Beryl,

what a great project. I think you are spot on about the correlation of loneliness and "writer's block." I don't know how often I've heard as a Phd that writing your thesis is a lonely task. Well, I have recently come to the insight that's a whole lotta lard. It isn't. It is what you want it to be. And I decided I want it to be ... Hm. Well, okay, I have to improvise now, because I haven't really thought about this in like words so... I'm thinking about web's as in spiders...because I recently got that book about New Zealand spiders out of the library and then there's that other expectation about Phds to network for jobs and all - but "net" sounds hard and intimidating and I really liked the pictures of those spider's and their webs. So I go with "web-work." Ha! I guess that's not very original but then I never thought "lonely task" was. Maybe I have to spend some more time with those spiders. Awesome, my brain is exploding! This rocks, Beryl. Thanks for inviting me. Bx, Ange

I would be interested to hear your comments on this book. It was the first book I had published. Do you think it has dated? This is always a concern for those writers who choose to write in a contemporary settings.
good luck with your thesis

Dear Beryl,
thanks again for your valuable input regarding my Phd-project.
Working at corpus selection at the moment and eager to read "The Word Burners".
All the best!
